Laura A. Frank is an artist and jeweler, who established her studio, LAF Designs, in the early 2000s in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. When the opportunity to move to Rockaway Beach came along, her jewelry studio evolved into a creative and experimental, multi-disciplinary art studio that specializes in working with metals, wood, watercolors, encaustic pigments, and textiles. Living by the ocean, with the opportunity to connect with water and nature has given Laura boundless artistic inspiration. Laura's artwork has been described as intuitive, expansive, ethereal, spiritual and expressive. With attention to detail and a deep understanding of color theory and gestural line Laura connects with her audience, exploring visual juxtaposition, through texture, her choice of color palette, form, or line movement. She is constantly searching for ways to connect and value her environment through her materials and creative process. When not in her studio, you can find Laura in her garden or enjoying fun family beach days and long walks along the shore.

Messages from our lovely customers:

I met you at an art show in Rockaway. We just visited our daughter Alice and Vincent and their three boys and she gave me the lovely mug you created for Mothers Day. I just LOVE it. Your art is amazing. I bought some of your note cards at the show, and just ordered some more... ... You are very talented. I am really enjoying my mug. Hope to see you on our next visit.
